Milestone Project Review

Milestone Projects ---------------------- Objectified Response For this project, after watching the documentary, I found myself most interested and inspired by the old flip phones seen in the early 2000s. Since Motorola's and Blackberries were things I grew up around. Specifically I really liked Naoto Fukasawa's design, and how it was super cubic and rounded off. With this project, I quickly found that making a model as smooth and well put together as Naoto's would not be possible within the time allotted. So instead I modelled it off of a Motorola Razor. I'd say the most challenging part of this would have been getting the curved aspects of the model, that occurred on the inside and the top of the phone. The bottom part of the phone, where the vents are, also proved tricky and I went through a lot of prototypes before finally coming to something that at least resembled the original phone. Mesh Mash-up This one went a lot of directions, and started out way different th...

3D Printing Project: Demon Fella

Image
Demon Fella For this project, me and a partner choose a few objects from the 6 concepts we developed a week ago. We then decide on which ones will combine into one the best, and create a hybrid of our different ideas. He was a combination of one of 6 random objects created by me, and Kailyn Humphreys. Here are the objects below:                        Mine, and then Kailyn's: Out of his shapes, we decided on this for a basis. Out of mine, we like the idea of this one the most For mine, the top was not planar, sadly, so we didn't go with it for the base shape. Essentially we took the idea of stars and the basis of Kailyn's vase with horns, and combined those ideas. We moved into the concept art stage, Kailyn taking over this part of the process. He drew lots of creepy cute creatures with ideas on its surface texture, shape, and how it would bend and squish. He gave me tons of ideas to work with when moving this into 3D! With his...
